A first contact physiotherapist is a very useful new member of the team.
They can:
- Diagnose a new muscle or joint problem
- Order relevant scans and tests if appropriate.
- Refer onward for a full course of physiotherapy at Samuel Johnson Hospital.
- Refer to a consultant if appropriate.
They can't
- Prescribe medicines (although they can liase with the duty doctor if they feel you need something on the day).
