Training

Darwin Medical Practice is also a Training Practice

We are a training practice and are dedicated to the teaching of medical students. They are able to learn a great deal by sitting in on consultations and accompanying our clinical staff on home visits.

We hope that you will co-operate with us in helping the students learn about general practice. You will be informed of their presence in advance. If you decline, your wishes will be respected and this will not affect your treatment in anyway.

Darwin Medical Practice is involved in the education and training of GP Registrars. They are fully qualified, senior doctors who have decided to pursue a career in general practice.

A GP Registrar or GP trainee is a qualified doctor who is training to become a GP through a period of working and training in a practice.

They will usually have spent at least two years in hospital before you see them in practice and are closely supervised by a Senior GP or GP Trainer.
